Perform a Mighty Deed

Jesus replied, “Do not prevent him.
There is no one who performs
a mighty deed in my name
who can at the same time speak ill of me.
For whoever is not against us is for us."
(Mark 9:39:40)

Performing a mighty deed in Jesus’ name is a powerful expression of faith and devotion. It often involves acts of compassion, kindness, and service to others, reflecting the love and teachings of Jesus. Here are a few ways you might consider:

Helping Those in Need: Whether it’s providing food, clothing, or shelter, helping those less fortunate is a tangible way to show Christ’s love.

Offering Encouragement: Sometimes, a kind word or a listening ear can be a mighty deed. Encouraging someone who is struggling can make a significant impact.

Praying for Others: Interceding in prayer for those who are sick, troubled, or in need of guidance is a powerful act of faith.

Sharing the Gospel: Spreading the message of Jesus and His love can be one of the most impactful deeds.

Remember, even small acts done with great love can be mighty in the eyes of God. How do you feel called to serve in Jesus’ name?

In the name of Jesus, we stand,
With hearts united, hand in hand.
Through trials and triumphs, we proclaim,
The mighty deeds done in His name.

When darkness falls and hope seems lost,
We remember the cross and the cost.
For in His sacrifice, we find our light,
Guided by faith, we fight the good fight.

With every act of love and grace,
We see the reflection of His face.
In serving others, we find our call,
To be His hands and feet to all.

Through prayer and praise, we lift our voice,
In His presence, we rejoice.
For every miracle, big or small,
Is a testament to His love for all.

So let us go forth, bold and true,
In everything we say and do.
For in Jesus’ name, we are made strong,
And to Him, our praises belong.

Heavenly Father,

I come before You with a heart full of faith and humility, seeking Your guidance and strength. Lord Jesus, You have promised that if we ask anything in Your name, it will be done. I stand on this promise today, believing in Your power and grace.

Lord, I ask for Your anointing to perform a mighty deed that will bring glory to Your name. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit, that I may be a vessel of Your love, compassion, and power. Let Your light shine through me, dispelling darkness and bringing hope to those in need.

Grant me the wisdom to know Your will and the courage to act upon it. May my actions reflect Your teachings and draw others closer to You. I trust in Your divine plan and surrender my will to Yours, knowing that Your ways are higher than mine.

Father, I pray that this deed will be a testament to Your greatness and a witness to Your unfailing love. May it inspire faith in others and bring about transformation in their lives. Use me, Lord, as an instrument of Your peace and a beacon of Your truth.

In Jesus’ mighty name, I pray.

Amen.

ANOTHER EXORCIST / TEMPTATION TO SIN
Mark 9: 38-41 / 42-48

Gospel Acclamation
Your word, O Lord, is truth; consecrate us in the truth.

Gospel | Mark 9:38-43, 45, 47-48

38 At that time, John said to Jesus, “Teacher, we saw someone driving out demons in your name, and we tried to prevent him because he does not follow us.” 39 Jesus replied, “Do not prevent him. There is no one who performs a mighty deed in my name who can at the same time speak ill of me. 40 For whoever is not against us is for us. 41 Anyone who gives you a cup of water to drink because you belong to Christ, amen, I say to you, will surely not lose his reward. 42 “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone were put around his neck and he were thrown into the sea. 43 If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed than with two hands to go into Gehenna, into the unquenchable fire. 45 And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life crippled than with two feet to be thrown into Gehenna. 47 And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. Better for you to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into Gehenna, 48 where ‘their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.’”
