Let Them Grow Together

"Let them grow together until harvest;
then at harvest time I will say to the harvesters,
“First collect the weeds and
tie them in bundles for burning;
but gather the wheat into my barn.”’”
 (Matthew 13:30)

Good and evil will coexist until the end of the age. Just as wheat and weeds grow together, righteousness and wickedness exist side by side in the world. Rushing to uproot evil may harm the righteous. Patience allows true character to emerge. God alone judges hearts. We should learn to wait, trusting God’s justice and strive for personal growth, knowing that God’s timing is perfect.

24 Jesus proposed another parable to the crowds. “The Kingdom of heaven may be likened to a man who sowed good seed in his field. 25 While everyone was asleep his enemy came and sowed weeds all through the wheat, and then went off. 26 When the crop grew and bore fruit, the weeds appeared as well. 27 The slaves of the householder came to him and said, ‘Master, did you not sow good seed in your field? Where have the weeds come from?’ 28 He answered, ‘An enemy has done this.’ His slaves said to him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’ 29 He replied, ‘No, if you pull up the weeds you might uproot the wheat along with them. 30 Let them grow together until harvest; then at harvest time I will say to the harvesters, “First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles for burning; but gather the wheat into my barn.”’” (Matthew 13:24-30)

Lord Jesus, our Shepherd and Guide, in this vast field of existence, where wheat and weeds entwine, Where righteousness and wickedness stand side by side, Grant us discernment, O Savior divine. Teach us patience, as we tread this earthly path, for hasty hands may harm the righteous, unknowing, Yet Your wisdom, like a beacon, lights our way, revealing character’s true colors, ever-growing. You alone, O God, see hearts laid bare, The hidden motives, the secret struggles we bear. May we learn to wait, trusting in Your justice, as we strive for growth, our souls’ sacred practice. In the quiet moments, when shadows lengthen, May we find solace in Your timing, perfect and true, for You orchestrate the seasons of our lives, and in Your presence, transformational grace imbues. Lord Jesus, our Judge and Redeemer, may we surrender our impatience, our fears, and embrace the dance of wheat and weeds, knowing that Your love sustains us through the years. Amen.

God looks beyond external appearances; He examines our hearts. Our worship should flow from a heart surrendered to Him. Mere religious rituals and external practices are insufficient. True worship involves a sincere heart, obedience, and a genuine relationship with God. Repentance isn’t just about words; it requires a change in behavior and attitude.

God’s justice demands accountability for our actions. Yet, His mercy is available to those who genuinely seek Him. We must avoid hypocrisy by aligning our beliefs with our actions. Let us boldly share God’s truth, even when it’s unpopular.

1 The following message came to Jeremiah from the Lord: 2 Stand at the gate of the house of the Lord, and there proclaim this message: Hear the word of the Lord, all you of Judah who enter these gates to worship the Lord! 3 Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Reform your ways and your deeds, so that I may remain with you in this place. 4 Put not your trust in the deceitful words: “This is the temple of the Lord! The temple of the Lord! The temple of the Lord!” 5 Only if you thoroughly reform your ways and your deeds; if each of you deals justly with his neighbor; 6 if you no longer oppress the resident alien, the orphan, and the widow; if you no longer shed innocent blood in this place, or follow strange gods to your own harm, 7 will I remain with you in this place, in the land which I gave your fathers long ago and forever. 8 But here you are, putting your trust in deceitful words to your own loss! 9 Are you to steal and murder, commit adultery and perjury, burn incense to Baal, go after strange gods that you know not, 10 and yet come to stand before me in this house which bears my name, and say: “We are safe; we can commit all these abominations again”? 11 Has this house which bears my name become in your eyes a den of thieves? I too see what is being done, says the Lord. (Jeremiah 7:1-11)

Heavenly Father, You who see beyond the veil of appearances, gaze upon our hearts, laid bare before You. May our worship rise from surrendered souls, not mere rituals, but a symphony of truth. Grant us hearts aflame with love for You, where worship flows like a sacred river. May our devotion be more than words, a dance of obedience, a lifelong endeavor. Forgive us when our steps falter, Lord, when our attitudes stray from Your light. May repentance not be empty echoes, but a transformation, day into night. Your justice stands unwavering, firm, yet Your mercy flows like a boundless sea. To those who seek You with contrite hearts, Grace abounds, setting captives free. Keep us from the pitfall of hollow piety, where lips profess while hearts remain cold. Align our beliefs with actions, we pray, that our lives reflect the story You’ve told. In a world that shuns Your truth, O God, empower us to boldly proclaim Your Word. For Your eternal truth transcends opinions, guiding us toward life abundant, undeterred. We surrender, we worship, we seek You, In the quiet chambers of our souls. May our lives mirror the love You’ve shown, as we share Your truth, making broken hearts whole. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

God Blesses those who love Him enough to worship Him. Leaders in God’s house today should prioritize creating spaces where people can genuinely encounter the living God. Our focus when coming to God’s house should be on meeting Him, not merely on programs or entertainment.

Our desire for God’s fellowship should surpass all else. Those who dwell with God in His house are blessed. This extends beyond physical temples to our eternal home with Jesus. Even in the wilderness, hope is found as pilgrims journey toward God’s presence. Our strength comes from God. We’re like pilgrims passing through this world, relying on Him.

God withholds no good thing from those who walk with integrity and trust in Him. Trusting God brings His abundant blessings. Let us seek God wholeheartedly, find strength in Him, and prioritize fellowship with our living God.

3 My soul yearns and pines for the courts of the Lord. My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. (R) 4 Even the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow a nest in which she puts her young—Your altars, O Lord of hosts, my king and my God! (R) 5 Blessed they who dwell in your house! continually they praise you. 6 Blessed the men whose strength you are! 8 They go from strength to strength. (R) 11 I had rather one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I had rather lie at the threshold of the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked. (Psalm 84:3, 4, 5-6, 8, 11)

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts open wide, seeking Your presence and guidance. You are the living God, and we long to encounter You genuinely. May our focus, when we gather in Your house, be solely on meeting You—not distracted by programs or entertainment. Lord, we desire fellowship with You, a fellowship that surpasses all else. Whether within the walls of a physical temple or in the quiet of our hearts, we yearn for communion with You. Bless those who dwell in Your house, extending this blessing to our eternal home with Jesus. Even in the wilderness, as pilgrims on a sacred journey, we find hope. Our strength comes from You, our Provider and Sustainer. Like travelers passing through this world, we rely on Your grace and mercy. You withhold no good thing, for those who walk with integrity and trust in You. We choose to trust, knowing that Your abundant blessings flow to those who seek You wholeheartedly. May we prioritize fellowship with our living God above all else. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
