Let the Children Come to Me

“Let the children come to me; do not prevent them,
for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these."
(Mark 10:14)

Jesus has a special relationship with children because of their innocence and their willingness to trust. Receptivity is key to our relationship with God. We must be willing to receive God’s kingdom with humility, trust, and openness, just like a child. Jesus' ministry is inclusive, personal, and compassionate in nature. Everyone, including children, is valuable in the kingdom of God. The hand of the Lord is upon us all blessing us in our faith journey.

13 People were bringing children to Jesus that he might touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. 14 When Jesus saw this, he became indignant and said to them, “Let the children come to me; do not prevent them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15 Amen, I say to you, whoever does not accept the Kingdom of God like a child will not enter it.” 16 Then he embraced them and blessed them, placing his hands on them. (Mark 10:13-16)

In the eyes of a child, pure and bright, shines the innocence of heavenly light. Jesus holds a special bond, so we're told, with these young hearts, trusting and bold. Receptivity is key, in faith we must trust, to our God above, being open is a must. With humility, trust, and an open heart, like a child, in His kingdom, we take part. Jesus' ministry, a beacon of love, inclusive and personal, sent from above. From the smallest child to the oldest soul, in His kingdom, each one plays a role. Valuable are we in the kingdom of God, treasured and loved, though we are flawed. The hand of the Lord, gentle and kind, blesses us all, in love we find.

Dear Lord Jesus, we acknowledge the special relationship You have with children, reflecting their innocence and their willingness to trust. We are reminded of Your words, calling us to be like little children, receptive and open to Your kingdom. We pray for the grace to receive Your kingdom with humility, trust, and openness, just like a child. Help us to cultivate a childlike faith, full of trust and devoid of skepticism. May we always be receptive to Your word and Your will in our lives. We thank You for Your inclusive, personal, and compassionate ministry. We are grateful that everyone, including children, is valuable in Your kingdom. Help us to see each other through Your eyes, recognizing the inherent value in each person. We acknowledge that Your hand is upon us all, blessing us in our faith journey. May we always feel Your presence in our lives, guiding us, protecting us, and blessing us. In Your holy name, we pray. Amen.

Prayer should be our first response, not our last resort in various situations, whether in suffering, cheerfulness, or sickness. Prayer of faith will save the sick. Faith is linked in the healing process. Let us support each other in times of need and pray for each other for healing to occur. Each of us has a role to play in the process of restoration.

13 Beloved: Is anyone among you suffering? He should pray. Is anyone in good spirits? He should sing a song of praise. 14 Is anyone among you sick? He should summon the presbyters of the Church, and they should pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 The prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven. 16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The fervent prayer of a righteous person is very powerful. 17 Elijah was a man like us; yet he prayed earnestly that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain upon the land. 18 Then Elijah prayed again, and the sky gave rain and the earth produced its fruit. 19 My brothers and sisters, if anyone among you should stray from the truth and someone brings him back, 20 he should know that whoever brings back a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins. (James 5:13-20)

In every moment, in joy or in pain, let our first response be to call His name. Not as a last resort in our distress, but as the first step in our faithfulness. In suffering's grip or cheerfulness' song, in prayer, we find where our hearts belong. The prayer of faith, a powerful decree, can save the sick and set the captives free. Faith is not just a word, but a seed, that blossoms into action in our need. It's linked to healing, a divine connection, a heavenly balm for our affliction. In times of need, let's stand side by side, support each other, let love be our guide. Pray for each other, let healing occur, in the unity of faith, let love endure. Each of us has a role, a part to play, in the grand design, in the light of day. In the process of restoration, let's take our stand, guided by His love, upheld by His hand.

Dear Heavenly Father, in every situation, whether in suffering, cheerfulness, or sickness, let prayer be our first response, not our last resort. Remind us that it is through prayer, we communicate with You, express our needs, and acknowledge Your sovereignty. We believe in the power of prayer and the strength of faith. We know that the prayer of faith will save the sick. We trust in Your promise of healing and restoration. Help us to understand that faith is not just a belief but an active trust in Your power and love, especially in the healing process. In times of need, let us support each other, bearing each other's burdens, and fulfilling the law of love. Let us pray for each other, interceding for healing, peace, and comfort to occur. Help us to understand that each of us has a role to play in the process of restoration. Guide us to be Your hands and feet, serving others with love and compassion, and leading them back to You. In all things, we give You thanks and praise, for You are our Healer, our Comforter, and our Restorer. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We should make prayer our first response in every situation and not wait for a convenient time but immediately turned to God in his time of need. Our prayers are not just requests, but they are also acts of worship to the Lord our God. Let us be mindful of our words and striving to speak only what is pleasing to God, fix our eyes on Him especially in times of trouble, and to trust Him to guide and protect us.

1 O Lord, to you I call; hasten to me; hearken to my voice when I call upon you. 2 Let my prayer come like incense before you; the lifting up of my hands, like the evening sacrifice. 3 O Lord, set a watch before my mouth, a guard at the door of my lips. 8 For toward you, O God, my Lord, my eyes are turned; in you I take refuge; strip me not of life. (Psalm 141:1-2, 3, 8)

In every situation, near or far, let prayer be our guiding star. Not waiting for a time that's right, but turning to God with all our might. Our prayers are more than just requests, they're acts of worship, of love professed. To the Lord our God, we lift our voice, in His presence, our hearts rejoice. Mindful of our words, we strive, to speak only what's pleasing in God's eyes. With every word, may we impart, a reflection of His love in our heart. In times of trouble, on Him we fix our gaze, trusting in His love, lost in His grace. Guiding and protecting us through the fray, in His presence, we choose to stay.

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, recognizing that in every situation, prayer should be our first response. We understand the urgency of turning to You, not waiting for a convenient time but immediately seeking Your presence in our time of need. We acknowledge that our prayers are not just requests, but they are also acts of worship to You, our Lord and God. As we lift our hands and hearts to You, may our prayers rise like a pleasing sacrifice, reflecting our love and devotion to You. Help us to be mindful of our words, striving to speak only what is pleasing to You. Set a guard over our mouths, Lord, and keep watch over the door of our lips. May our words be a reflection of Your love and grace. In times of trouble, we choose to fix our eyes on You. We trust in Your unfailing love and Your power to protect and guide us. Even when we walk through the darkest valley, we will fear no evil, for You are with us. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
