Joined Together As One

"The two shall become one flesh.
So they are no longer two but one flesh.
Therefore what God has joined together,
no human being must separate.”
(Mark 10:8-9)

We should always respect God's laws in our lives even when challenged and uphold the teachings of the scriptures. Wise and thoughtful response is how to handle difficult situations with wisdom and grace. While divorce is not part of God's original plan, He understands human weakness and frailty. Let us strive for God's ideals to value and honor our marital commitments
while acknowledging our human limitations.

1 Jesus came into the district of Judea and across the Jordan. Again crowds gathered around him and, as was his custom, he again taught them. 2 The Pharisees approached and asked, “Is it lawful for a husband to divorce his wife?” They were testing him. He said to them in reply, 3 “What did Moses command you?” 4 They replied, “Moses permitted him to write a bill of divorce and dismiss her.” 5 But Jesus told them, “Because of the hardness of your hearts he wrote you this commandment. 6 But from the beginning of creation, God made them male and female. 7 For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, 8 and the two shall become one flesh. So they are no longer two but one flesh. 9 Therefore what God has joined together, no human being must separate.” 10 In the house the disciples again questioned Jesus about this. 11 He said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her; 12 and if she divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.” (Mark 10:1-12)

In life's vast expanse, where challenges are rife, respect for God's laws, should be our guiding light. Scriptures teach us wisdom, a compass in our strife, to navigate the storm, with grace and insight. Divorce, not part of His plan, yet He understands, our human frailty, in life's shifting sands. His mercy is profound, His love expands, He holds us close, in His mighty hands. Strive we must, for His ideals so grand, to honor marital vows, as He did command. Yet, acknowledging our limits, on this earthly land, in His boundless love, we know He'll understand. So let us walk with grace, hand in hand, upholding His teachings, in every land. For in wisdom and respect, we make our stand, in the shadow of His laws, under His command.

Dear Lord Jesus, in the face of life's trials and tribulations, we seek Your guidance and strength. We strive to respect Your laws, even when we are challenged, and uphold the teachings of the scriptures. Grant us the wisdom to respond thoughtfully and handle difficult situations with grace. We acknowledge that divorce was not part of Your original plan for us. Yet, in Your infinite wisdom and mercy, You understand our human weaknesses and frailties. You know our hearts, Lord, and the struggles we face. Help us to strive for Your ideals, to value and honor our marital commitments. Yet, as we acknowledge our human limitations, we ask for Your understanding and forgiveness. May we always seek Your face, Lord, in all that we do. Guide us in our journey, and help us to grow in love and understanding for one another. In Your name, we pray. Amen.

Faith often involves enduring hardships and maintaining trust in God’s plan. We should be patient in the face of suffering and maintain perseverance in our trials and tribulations. Let our yes be yes and no be no. Straightforward honesty and integrity is very important in our words and actions. Spiritual riches is more valuable over material wealth which is transitory and corruptible in nature.

9 Do not complain, brothers and sisters, about one another, that you may not be judged. Behold, the Judge is standing before the gates. 10 Take as an example of hardship and patience, brothers and sisters, the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. 11 Indeed we call blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of the perseverance of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, because the Lord is compassionate and merciful. 12 But above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath, but let your “Yes” mean “Yes” and your “No” mean “No,” that you may not incur condemnation. (James 5:9-12)

In the crucible of life, we often stand, enduring hardships, guided by God's hand. Trust in His plan, though the path may wind, in His divine wisdom, peace we find. Patience, oh virtue, in suffering be our guide, as a silent boat sails against the tide. Through trials and tribulations, we mustn't hide, with perseverance, let us stride. Let our yes echo true, our no stand firm, in the face of the world, we mustn't squirm. Honesty and integrity, let us affirm, in our words and actions, let these terms. Material wealth, transitory and corruptible, its allure, oh so destructible. But spiritual riches, incorruptible, in its light, we are invincible.

Dear Heavenly Father, in the face of trials and tribulations, we seek Your guidance, faith often involves enduring hardships, in Your wisdom, we find reliance. Help us maintain trust in Your divine plan, even when the path is steep, and we can barely stand. Grant us patience, oh Lord, in the face of suffering, like a tree in a storm, bending but never breaking. Help us maintain perseverance through our trials, with You by our side, we can cross any miles. Let our yes be yes, and our no be no, in our words and actions, let honesty glow. Integrity is the compass that guides our way, help us to follow it, each and every day. Remind us, oh Lord, of the true wealth, not in material possessions, but in spiritual health. For earthly riches are transitory, corruptible in nature, but spiritual riches in You, are our true savior. In Your holy name, we pray, guide us, protect us, each and every day. Amen.

God is compassionate, gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in love. He is always ready to forgive us and heal our wounds no matter what mistakes we've made. The greatness of God's love are for those who fear Him and how far He has removed our transgressions from us. We should always remember God's goodness, seek His forgiveness, emulate His compassionate and gracious nature, and rest in His enduring love. Let us bless the Lord with all our soul and not to forget all His benefits.

1 Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all my being, bless his holy name. 2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits. 3 He pardons all your iniquities, he heals all your ills. 4 He redeems your life from destruction, he crowns you with kindness and compassion. 8 Merciful and gracious is the Lord, slow to anger and abounding in kindness. 9 He will not always chide, nor does he keep his wrath forever. 11 For as the heavens are high above the earth, so surpassing is his kindness toward those who fear him. 12 As far as the east is from the west, so far has he put our transgressions from us. (Psalm 103:1-2, 3-4, 8-9, 11-12)

In the heart of the Divine, compassion resides, gracious and patient, in Him, our faith confides. Slow to anger, His love in abundance flows, ready to heal and forgive, that's the grace He bestows. Mistakes we've made, yet His mercy never ends, He heals our wounds, our broken hearts He mends. The greatness of His love, a treasure to revere, for those who fear Him, His promises are clear. Transgressions cast far, as east is from the west, in His enduring love, we find our rest. Emulate His nature, compassionate and kind, in the pursuit of goodness, let our hearts be aligned. Bless the Lord, O my soul, forget not His deeds, His benefits are endless, like a garden full of seeds. So let us seek His forgiveness, in His love, let us bask, and remember His goodness, that's our most sacred task.

Dear Heavenly Father, You are compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in love. We thank You for Your readiness to forgive us and heal our wounds, no matter the mistakes we've made, Your mercy is profound. We stand in awe of the greatness of Your love, a love that is for those who fear You, sent from above.
