God of Life

"He is not God of the dead but of the living.
You are greatly misled.”
(Mark 12:18-27)

God is a God of life, and that His relationship with His people extends beyond death. His relationship with His people is eternal, transcending our earthly existence. This belief gives us hope and comfort, knowing that death is not the end, but a transition into eternal life with God. It underscores the depth of God’s love for us, that He desires to be in relationship with us forever.

It is important to study and understand God’s Word correctly so that we may not commit error due to lack of understanding of the Scriptures and God’s power when faced with difficult questions or situations. Let us always seek God's wisdom in all of what we say and do.

18 Some Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to Jesus and put this question to him, 19 saying, “Teacher, Moses wrote for us, If someone’s brother dies, leaving a wife but no child, his brother must take the wife and raise up descendants for his brother. 20 Now there were seven brothers. The first married a woman and died, leaving no descendants. 21 So the second brother married her and died, leaving no descendants, and the third likewise. 22 And the seven left no descendants. Last of all the woman also died. 23 At the resurrection when they arise whose wife will she be? For all seven had been married to her.” 24 Jesus said to them, “Are you not misled because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God? 25 When they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but they are like the angels in heaven. 26 As for the dead being raised, have you not read in the Book of Moses, in the passage about the bush, how God told him, I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? 27 He is not God of the dead but of the living. You are greatly misled.” (Mark 12:18-27)

God, the giver of life and love, His relationship with us, fits like a glove. Transcending our earthly, fleeting breath, His love remains, even beyond death. Eternal is His bond, His divine tie, giving us hope, as days go by. Death is not the end, but a transition, into eternal life, a glorious mission. The depth of His love, so profound, in every corner of our hearts, it's found. He desires to be with us, forever and a day, in His loving presence, we forever stay. To understand His Word, we must strive, for it's the guidebook, keeping our faith alive. Lest we err, in understanding lack, let's study His Word, no turning back. In all we say, in all we do, let's seek God's wisdom, pure and true. For His wisdom is our guiding light, leading us through, the darkest night.

Dear Lord Jesus, we acknowledge You as the God of life, and we are grateful that Your relationship with us extends beyond death. We are comforted by the knowledge that our relationship with You is eternal, transcending our earthly existence. We thank You for the hope and comfort this belief gives us, knowing that death is not the end, but a transition into eternal life with You. We are humbled by the depth of Your love for us, and we rejoice in the knowledge that You desire to be in relationship with us forever. We pray for wisdom and understanding as we study Your Word. Help us to avoid error due to lack of understanding of the Scriptures and Your power. Guide us in all that we say and do, so that we may always seek Your wisdom. In Your holy name, we pray. Amen.

God doesn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-discipline. We are challenged to boldly share the gospel, even in the face of opposition or hardship. It is important to pass on our faith to the next generation and cherish the spiritual heritage we have received by actively using and cultivating the spiritual gifts God has given us, not letting them lie dormant. Let us live boldly, lovingly, and disciplined, relying on God’s Spirit within us.

1 Paul, an Apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God for the promise of life in Christ Jesus, 2 to Timothy, my dear child: grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. 3 I am grateful to God, whom I worship with a clear conscience as my ancestors did, as I remember you constantly in my prayers, night and day. 6 For this reason, I remind you to stir into flame the gift of God that you have through the imposition of my hands. 7 For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice but rather of power and love and self-control. 8 So do not be ashamed of your testimony to our Lord, nor of me, a prisoner for his sake; but bear your share of hardship for the Gospel with the strength that comes from God. 9 He saved us and called us to a holy life, not according to our works but according to his own design and the grace bestowed on us in Christ Jesus before time began, 10 but now made manifest through the appearance of our savior Christ Jesus, who destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel, 11 for which I was appointed preacher and Apostle and teacher. 12 On this account I am suffering these things; but I am not ashamed, for I know him in whom I have believed and am confident that he is able to guard what has been entrusted to me until that day. (2 Timothy 1:1-3, 6-12)

In the realm where fear does not reside, God's spirit in us, a powerful tide. of love and power, self-discipline, against the storm, we're sure to win. Boldly we share the gospel's light, in face of hardship, showing might. Opposition may rise, but we stand tall, for God's power within us conquers all. Passing faith to the next in line, a heritage spiritual, truly divine. Cultivating gifts, in us instilled, not dormant, but active, our purpose fulfilled. Living boldly, with love, and disciplined grace, relying on God, in this life's race. His Spirit within us, our guiding light, in His strength, we take flight.

Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You for not giving us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-discipline. We are grateful for the courage You instill in us to boldly share the gospel, even in the face of opposition or hardship. We pray for the strength to pass on our faith to the next generation, cherishing the spiritual heritage we have received. Help us to actively use and cultivate the spiritual gifts You have given us, not letting them lie dormant. Guide us to live boldly, lovingly, and disciplined, relying on Your Spirit within us. May we always remember that it is not by our power, but by Your Spirit that we can face each day and each challenge. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We should focus our attention on God, not on our circumstances or ourselves. Focusing our attention on God helps us gain a divine perspective and enables us to navigate through life’s challenges with faith and courage. It reminds us that God is greater than any circumstance we might face, and that our strength comes from Him. This doesn’t mean we ignore our circumstances or ourselves, but rather we view them through the lens of faith, trusting in God’s wisdom, power, and love. We are not self-sufficient; we need God’s help in every aspect of our lives. Let us wait patiently for God’s mercy, acknowledging our need for His grace, and approach Him with humility.

1 To you I lift up my eyes who are enthroned in heaven. 2 Behold, as the eyes of servants are on the hands of their masters. As the eyes of a maid are on the hands of her mistress, so are our eyes on the Lord, our God, till he has pity on us. (Psalm 123:1-2, 2)

In life's vast sea, waves high and low, on God alone, our gaze we throw. Not on the storm, nor on the self, but on Divine, our truest wealth. With faith and courage, we navigate, God's wisdom guides us through every gate. Greater than any circumstance we meet, God's power makes the challenge sweet. We view life through faith's clear lens, trust in His love, on Him depends. Not self-sufficient, we confess, in every aspect, we need His bless. Patiently for His mercy, we wait, acknowledging our need, however great. With humility, to Him we draw near, in His presence, we find no fear.

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, acknowledging that our attention should be focused on You, not on our circumstances or ourselves. Help us to gain a divine perspective that enables us to navigate through life’s challenges with faith and courage. Remind us, Lord, that You are greater than any circumstance we might face, and that our strength comes from You. Help us to view our circumstances and ourselves through the lens of faith, trusting in Your wisdom, power, and love. We confess that we are not self-sufficient; we need Your help in every aspect of our lives. Teach us to wait patiently for Your mercy, acknowledging our need for Your grace. Help us to approach You with humility, recognizing our dependence on You. May we always trust in Your unfailing love and mercy. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
