Nothing will Harm you

"Behold, I have given you the power
‘to tread upon serpents’
and scorpions and upon
the full force of the enemy
and nothing will harm you."
(Luke 10:19)

Jesus grants His disciples authority over evil forces, symbolizing the spiritual power believers have through Him. He reminds them that their ultimate joy should be in their salvation and relationship with God, rather than the power they wield.

Remember that you have divine protection. When you face challenges or fears, remind yourself of God’s promise that nothing will harm you. This can give you courage and peace in difficult situations. Recognize the authority you have through Jesus. This means standing firm against negative influences, temptations, and spiritual attacks. Pray with confidence, knowing that you have power over these forces.

Just as the disciples were sent out, you can share the message of God’s love and salvation with others. Use your authority to help and uplift others. Whether it’s through acts of kindness, offering support, or praying for those in need, let your actions reflect the love and power of Christ.

While it’s important to acknowledge the power you have, remember that your true joy comes from your relationship with God. Spend time in prayer, worship, and reading the Bible to deepen this relationship.

In the shadow of His wings, we find our peace,
A promise of protection that will never cease.
Through trials and storms, His love remains true,
In Jesus’ name, nothing will harm you.

When darkness surrounds and fears arise,
Look to the heavens, where hope never dies.
With faith as our shield, and His word as our guide,
In Jesus’ name, we safely abide.

No serpent’s bite, no scorpion’s sting,
Can break the bond with our Heavenly King.
For He has given us power, His strength to renew,
In Jesus’ name, nothing will harm you.

So walk with courage, let your heart be light,
For His angels guard you, day and night.
With every step, His grace will ensue,
In Jesus’ name, nothing will harm you.

Dear Lord Jesus,

In Your holy name, we find our refuge and strength. We come before You with hearts full of faith, trusting in Your promise that nothing will harm us. You are our protector, our guide, and our Savior.

Lord, we ask for Your divine protection over our lives. Shield us from all harm and danger, and keep us safe under the shadow of Your wings. When we face trials and tribulations, remind us of Your unwavering love and the power of Your name.

Grant us the courage to walk boldly in Your light, knowing that no weapon formed against us shall prosper. Fill our hearts with peace and our minds with clarity, so we may stand firm against the forces of darkness.

Help us to remember that our true joy and strength come from You. May we always find comfort in Your presence and assurance in Your promises. Guide our steps, Lord, and lead us on the path of righteousness.

In Your most holy and powerful name, we pray. Amen.

Gospel Acclamation
Blessed are you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, you have revealed to little ones the mysteries of the Kingdom.

Gospel | Luke 10:17-24

17 The seventy-two disciples returned rejoicing, and said to Jesus, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us because of your name.” 18 Jesus said, “I have observed Satan fall like lightning from the sky. 19 Behold, I have given you the power ‘to tread upon serpents’ and scorpions and upon the full force of the enemy and nothing will harm you. 20 Nevertheless, do not rejoice because the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice because your names are written in heaven.” 21 At that very moment he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, “I give you praise, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike. Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will. 22 All things have been handed over to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him.” 23 Turning to the disciples in private he said, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see. 24 For I say to you, many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, but did not see it, and to hear what you hear, but did not hear it.”
