He woke up, rebuked the wind,
and said to the sea,
“Quiet! Be still!”
The wind ceased and there was great calm.
(Mark 4:39)
Jesus is in control of all our circumstances. He is always with us in our trials. His presence provides comfort and assurance that we are not alone. We should trust in Jesus’ presence and power, even when we face life’s storms. Storms in life test our faith and reveal our true beliefs about God. They challenge us to rely on God’s strength rather than our own and to deepen our trust in His care and provision. No matter how turbulent our circumstances, Jesus can provide a calm and steadying presence. Let us trust in Jesus’ sovereignty, rely on His presence, and have faith even in the midst of life’s challenges.
35 On that day, as evening drew on, Jesus said to his disciples: “Let us cross to the other side.” 36 Leaving the crowd, they took Jesus with them in the boat just as he was. And other boats were with him. 37 A violent squall came up and waves were breaking over the boat, so that it was already filling up. 38 Jesus was in the stern, asleep on a cushion. They woke him and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” 39 He woke up, rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Quiet! Be still!” The wind ceased and there was great calm. 40 Then heasked them, “Why are you terrified? Do you not yet have faith?” 41 They were filled with great awe and said to one another, “Who then is this whom even wind and sea obey?” (Mark 4:35-41)
In every trial, in every storm, Jesus is there, His love keeps us warm. He holds our hand, He calms our fears, His presence wipes away our tears. When life’s waves crash and winds blow strong, In His embrace, we find our song. He is our comfort, our guiding light, In darkest hours, He shines so bright. Trust in His power, His sovereign grace, In every challenge, seek His face. Storms may test and faith may strain, But in His strength, we rise again. Rely on Jesus, His steady hand, In His care, we firmly stand. No matter how turbulent the sea, With Jesus, we are truly free. So let us trust, with hearts so pure, In Jesus’ love, we are secure. In every trial, in every fight, Jesus is our eternal light.
Dear Lord Jesus, we come before You, acknowledging that You are in control of all our circumstances. In every trial and storm, we trust in Your presence and power. You are always with us, providing comfort and assurance that we are never alone. Help us to rely on Your strength rather than our own. When life’s storms test our faith, may we find our true beliefs in You. Deepen our trust in Your care and provision, and remind us that no matter how turbulent our circumstances, You can provide a calm and steadying presence. Lord, we trust in Your sovereignty. We rely on Your presence and have faith in Your unfailing love. Guide us through life’s challenges, and help us to always seek Your face. In Your holy name, we pray. Amen.
God’s wisdom and power far exceed our understanding. There is a vast difference between divine and human knowledge. With our limited perspective, humility is important in our relationship with God. Even when we don’t understand our circumstances, we can trust that God has a purpose and plan. His control over the natural world assures us that He is also in control of our lives. God’s presence and engagement with us provides comfort and assurance that He is always with us, even in our trials. Let us trust in God’s wisdom, embrace humility, and find comfort in His presence, knowing that He is always in control.
1 The Lord addressed Job out of the storm and said: 8 Who shut within doors the sea, when it burst forth from the womb; 9 when I made the clouds its garment and thick darkness its swaddling bands? 10 When I set limits for it and fastened the bar of its door, 11 and said: Thus far shall you come but no farther, and here shall your proud waves be stilled! (Job 38:1, 8-11)
In realms beyond our mortal sight, God’s wisdom shines, a guiding light. His power vast, beyond compare, In every breath, He’s always there. Divine and human, worlds apart, Yet in His love, we find our heart. With humble steps, we walk His way, In trust and faith, we kneel and pray. Though shadows fall and doubts arise, His purpose gleams in clouded skies. He holds the earth, the stars, the sea, And in His hands, our destiny. His presence near, in joy and pain, A constant friend in sun and rain. In trials deep, His comfort flows, A gentle peace that ever grows. So let us trust in wisdom pure, Embrace humility, secure. In God’s great plan, we find our role, His love, our anchor, makes us whole.
Heavenly Father, Your wisdom and power far exceed our understanding. We acknowledge the vast difference between Your divine knowledge and our human perspective. God is sovereign over all creation, and nothing is beyond His power. He can calm the storms in our lives and guide us to safety. In the face of life’s challenges, we are often powerless and need God’s intervention. Let us turn to God in our times of need and trust in His ability to save us. God’s interventions in our lives is an important aspect of our faith. We should always give thanks to the Lord for His steadfast love and wonderful works.
23 They who sailed the sea in ships, trading on the deep waters, 24 these saw the works of the Lord and his wonders in the abyss. (R) 25 His command raised up a storm wind which tossed its waves on high. 26 They mounted up to heaven; they sank to the depths; their hearts melted away in their plight. (R) 28 They cried to the Lord in their distress; from their straits he rescued them, 29 he hushed the storm to a gentle breeze, and the billows of the sea were stilled. (R) 30 They rejoiced that they were calmed, and he brought them to their desired haven. 31 Let them give thanks to the Lord for his kindness and his wondrous deeds to the children of men. (Psalm 107:23-24, 25-26, 28-29, 30-31)
In the vast expanse of all creation, God’s sovereign hand holds every nation. No storm too fierce, no wave too high, He calms the seas, hears every sigh. When life’s challenges leave us weak,
In His strength, refuge we seek. Powerless, we call His name, In our need, He quells the flame. Turn to God in times of strife, Trust His power to save your life. His interventions, faith’s sweet song, In His love, we all belong. Give thanks to the Lord, steadfast and true, For His wondrous works, and mercies new. In every trial, His love prevails, With grateful hearts, His grace we hail.

The love of Christ is a driving force in our lives. It motivates us to live not for ourselves but for Him who died and was raised for us. This love transforms our priorities and actions, leading us to live in a way that honors God. We should no longer view people from a worldly perspective. Instead, we should see them through the lens of Christ’s love and redemption. This means valuing others not based on their external attributes but on their identity in Christ.
Being in Christ means becoming a new creation. The old life, with its sinful patterns and values, is gone. A new life has begun, characterized by righteousness, holiness, and a renewed relationship with God. A life that calls for obedience, service, and dedication to God’s purposes. While we are instantly made new in Christ, we continue to grow and be renewed in our faith journey. Let us embrace our new identity in Christ and live out our faith in a way that reflects His love and grace.
14 Brothers and sisters: The love of Christ impels us, once we have come to the conviction that one died for all; therefore, all have died. 15 He indeed died for all, so that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised. 16 Consequently, from now on we regard no one according to the flesh; even if we once knew Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know him so no longer. 17 So whoever is in Christ is a new creation: the old things have passed away; behold, new things have come. (2 Corinthians 5:14-17)
The love of Christ, a force so pure, It drives our hearts, our lives secure. Not for ourselves, but Him we live, Who died and rose, His grace to give. This love transforms our every deed, To honor God, our utmost need. No longer through the world’s dim view, But Christ’s redemption, clear and true. We see beyond the outward face, To Christ’s own love, His boundless grace. In Him, we find our true delight, Our worth in Him, our guiding light. In Christ, we are a new creation, Gone are the old, sinful temptations. A life of righteousness begins, With holiness, our hearts He wins. Renewed in faith, we grow each day, In service, love, and God’s own way. Embrace this life, our new identity, Reflect His love, His grace, our legacy.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the boundless love of Christ, a driving force in our lives. His sacrifice and resurrection motivate us to live not for ourselves, but for Him who gave everything for us. May this love transform our priorities and actions, leading us to live in a way that honors You. Help us to see others not from a worldly perspective, but through the lens of Christ’s love and redemption. Teach us to value people not based on their external attributes, but on their identity in Christ. Lord, being in Christ means we are a new creation. The old life, with its sinful patterns and values, is gone. A new life has begun, characterized by righteousness, holiness, and a renewed relationship with You. Guide us to live a life of obedience, service, and dedication to Your purposes. While we are instantly made new in Christ, we continue to grow and be renewed in our faith journey. Help us to embrace our new identity in Christ and live out our faith in a way that reflects His love and grace. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
